Carlos Tevez. Early Life and Adoption

Carlos Alberto Martínez was born in Ciudadela, Buenos Aires. He was later adopted by his mother's sister and her husband, Segundo Tevez, and changed his surname to Tevez.

Tevez grew up in the neighborhood of Ejército de Los Andes, known as Fuerte Apache, a town with high rates of criminality and poverty. This environment earned him the nickname 'El Apache'.
