Celine Dion. Early Life and Family

Celine Dion was born in Charlemagne, Quebec, as the youngest of 14 children to Thérèse Tanguay and Adhémar Dion.

At the age of five, Celine performed publicly for the first time at her brother Michel's wedding, singing Christine Charbonneau's 'Du fil, des aiguilles et du coton'.

Celine grew up in a household where music was a central part of family life. She and her siblings performed in their parents' small piano bar, 'Le Vieux Baril', and participated in local concerts.

Celine collaborated with her mother and brother Jacques to write and compose her first song, 'Ce n'était qu'un rêve' (It Was Only a Dream).
