Chris Kamara. Early Life and Football Career

Chris Kamara was born in Middlesbrough, England.

Kamara joined Portsmouth in November 1974 after serving in the Royal Navy.

Kamara spent three years at Portsmouth before being sold to Swindon Town for £14,000.

Kamara returned to Portsmouth for a £50,000 fee but was transferred to Brentford in October 1981.

Kamara spent four years with Brentford, picking up a runners-up medal in the Football League Trophy in 1985.

Kamara re-signed with Swindon Town in August 1985 and helped the club to two successive promotions into the Second Division.

Kamara joined Stoke City in 1988 and had a successful spell, winning the player of the year award in the 1988-89 season.

Kamara joined Leeds United in 1990 and helped the club win the Second Division title in 1989-90 but was injured for eight months.

Kamara was sold to Luton Town for £150,000 in 1991 and had loan spells with Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

Kamara joined Bradford City as a player-coach in 1993 and later became the manager in November 1995.
